The Junkers Ju-87 Stuka is the German dive bomber that became the symbol of the Blitzkrieg. In Skyraid.io it occupies a unique slot in the bomber path: faster and more maneuverable than the B-17, with rockets that hit almost as hard, plus a special dive-boost ability that lets you ambush from height. The Stuka is the bomber path's choice for aggressive, mobile pilots.
The Stuka first flew in 1935 and became infamous in the early war for its precision dive-bombing and the howling sirens fitted to its landing gear — the so-called "Jericho trumpets" that screamed as the plane plunged from altitude, designed to terrify infantry on the ground. During the invasions of Poland, France, and the Low Countries, Stukas were used as flying artillery, knocking out tanks, bridges, and command posts with extraordinary accuracy. Hans-Ulrich Rudel, the most decorated German pilot of the war, flew over 2,500 combat missions in Stukas and was credited with destroying more than 500 tanks and a Soviet battleship. The Stuka's vulnerability to enemy fighters became apparent during the Battle of Britain, after which it was withdrawn from contested airspace and used mainly on the Eastern Front and in anti-tank roles.

The Stuka sits between the bomber and fighter archetypes. With 275 HP, 2 armor, and 12 gun damage it can hold its own in a head-on engagement against any Tier 2 plane — and its four rockets at 100 damage each give it the second-highest rocket payload in the game (only the B-17 has more). Use this combination aggressively: open with rockets, follow up with guns, and let the dive boost reposition you for the next pass.
The dive-boost ability is what sets the Stuka apart from the Fortress. It gives you a temporary speed surge that turns the Stuka from a 3.0-speed bomber into a momentary fighter, perfect for closing on a fleeing target or for pulling out of a fight that has gone wrong. Treat it like an extra sprint: use it constantly, not just for emergencies.
Rockets are your primary weapon. Four rockets at 100 damage each is enough payload to one-shot a Spitfire or Zero with two clean hits. Lead generously and prioritize wounded targets — finishing kills with rockets is what makes the Stuka feared. Save at least one rocket for emergencies; a Stuka with empty rocket racks is much easier to engage than a full one.
The Stuka benefits most from Rocket Damage (which scales with its already-heavy rocket payload) and Max HP (to compensate for the speed and turn rate that the fighter-class Tier 2s exceed). Attack Damage is a strong third pick. Armor is decent but provides less marginal value than on the B-17.
The Stuka beats: any Tier 1 plane in a straight fight, the Mustang in head-on engagements, and the B-17 Fortress in mobility-focused fights. The Stuka struggles against: Spitfires and Zeros in turning fights, and any fighter that catches it without rockets.
